Apr. 14, 2008 – The University of Utah, along with 100 universities across the nation, will participate in the seventh annual “Careers in Aging Week,” April 8-14. The event is organized to introduce the wide-ranging career opportunities that exist in aging and aging research and to create awareness of the programs that offer educational and research opportunities in aging at the University of Utah.
Sponsored by the U of U Gerontology Interdisciplinary Program, the U of U Center on Aging and the U of U College of Social Work’s W.D. Goodwill Initiative on Aging in the College of Social, the week is part of the nation-wide event sponsored by the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) and the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE).
On Thursday, Apr. 17, a panel of experts will talk about careers opportunities in the field of aging. The panel will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in the Eccles Health Sciences Education Building on the U of U campus. Snacks and drinks will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.
