U Police Ask for Public Help Finding Rings

The University of Utah Department of Public Safety is asking for the public’s help finding some championship football rings recently stolen from the Dee glen Smith Athletic Center. Police received a report that someone forced open a display cabinet in the facility and stole a case containing eight football rings that belong to head University of Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham.

Ute Fans Invited to Test their Skills and Tailgate at the Gateway

Fans of Utah football are invited to the Olympic Legacy Plaza at the Gateway shopping center to tailgate and cheer for the Utes to beat Utah State before that interstate rivalry on Saturday, September 10. The party gets underway at 3 p.m. with a march by the University of Utah Marching Band and cheerleaders down Rio Grande Street. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Rice Eccles Stadium.

Engineering Program Climbs in National Ranking

The latest issue of U.S. News & World Report/America’s Best Colleges shows the University of Utah’s engineering program is continuing to climb in its annual rankings. The undergraduate program is ranked 57th nationally this year for public schools whose highest degree is a doctorate. That’s a jump of three spots from the year before and 10 spots over the last two years.
