August 29, 2002 — On Wednesday, September 4, Assistant Professor of Finance Mike Lemmon, will speak at the Business at Breakfast lecture series on corporate governance issues. Lemmon, the Jake Garn Faculty Fellow in Finance, will present, “The Implications of Legal Systems and Corporate Governance for Investing in International Financial Markets.”
Lemmon recently co-authored a paper with Dr. Hendrik Bessembinder, Blaine Huntsman Professor of Finance at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. The paper covers competitive pricing of long-term electricity contracts, and it appeared in the June issue of the Journal of Finance. In addition to publishing his research in many journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, and Financial Management, Lemmon has been quoted in many mainstream business publications including the Wall Street Journal.
Lemmon’s research focuses on insider trading, managerial compensation, corporate governance and capital structure.
