March 29, 2011–Solitude Mountain Resort will host the annual Ski and Shred Red Day on
April 1, 2011. The University of Utah and Solitude have teamed up in the past with hundreds of students, faculty and staff taking advantage of a cut-rate ticket price.
At the event, sponsored by the U’s Campus Recreation Services, participants are asked to proudly wear the school’s color – red – and take advantage of the spring snow at a bargain price of $34, which includes access to all chair lifts for the day. You don’t have to be a student, staff or faculty member of the University of Utah to participate.
Ski and Shred Red tickets can be purchased on campus at the Outdoor Recreation Program (2140 E. Red Butte Road, Fort Douglas, Building 650), The Olpin Union front desk, The Field House, and online at www.utah.edu/campusrec.
The U’s mascot, Swoop, will join Ute skiers on the hill to celebrate another great ski season along the Wasatch, and another great year of school. Solitude has organized a $7.00 lunch special at the Last Chance Lodge. Skiers just need to show their Shred Red ticket to get a burger or dog, fries and a drink.
The U’s Outdoor Recreation Program has ski and snowboard equipment available for rent to the general public at reasonable rates. For more information please visit: www.utah.edu/campusrec/outdoorrec
